Christian Eckart (1831 to 1875)
Christian Eckart, one of David Eckart’s sons and Johannes Eckart’s elder brother. He had already left Emskirchen before his brother. However, he went to seek his fortune much further away: he emigrated to Brazil in 1855 and finally settled down in Hawaii.Maximilian Eckart (1842 to 1918)
Maximilian also left Emskirchen. In 1868, he followed his brother Christian to Hawaii.
Maria Louisa Eckart, née Campbell (1862 to 1908)
In 1878, Maximilian married Maria Louisa Campbell. Her father was Danish, her mother was Hawaiian and "of royal blood".
Lilia Eckart (1879 to 1973)
Maximilian and Maria Louisa had twelve children. Their first child was Lilia, born in 1879.

Maximilian Eckart felt strongly connected to Hawaii and its inhabitants. In November 1875, he became a Hawaiian citizen.
